Convenience Shopping, the latest breakthrough of Voila

Voila presents online and offline Convenience Shopping for luxury goods enthusiasts in Indonesia. The company, which was founded by Paul Cahyadi, wants to make it easier for buyers to get goods from luxury brands with guaranteed product authenticity.

Two years after its establishment, Voila, which originally only had an online store in the form of a website, has expanded its business. It now has two offline stores, namely in Jakarta and Surabaya. This is driven by the enthusiasm of buyers who usually want to try products before buying them online.

“Voila outlet is not at the mall, so managing the operations is also easier by following the pandemic rules. However, at times like this, it's online like this that helps," said Voila Head of Marketing Communications Zoey Rasjid in a statement.

"We focus on online because since the pandemic broke out, many people couldn't go anywhere. Usually, they like to go on vacation abroad for shopping. That’s why Voila presents the convenience of shopping in Indonesia," he added.

Voila acknowledged that it was overshadowed by a decline in luxury goods sales during the pandemic due to challenging economic conditions. However, it could escape such predicament thanks to a combination of online and offline store strategies.

"Through the last two years of the pandemic, both offline and online stores have always been open. Thank God we always book transactions, and we also continue to introduce our new brands, because there are new brands that do not have standalone stores in Indonesia," Zoey said.

Today, Voila has more than 100 brands offered to buyers. With Midtrans as a payment gateway partner, a transaction medium provided by e-commerce application services, transactions are made easier.

Voila emphasises the importance of ease of transaction considering that the trend of luxury shopping goes on even in the midst of the pandemic. In addition, providing complete payment options, using Midtrans and being part of GoTo Financial, gives Voila buyers credibility.

“There is an insight that 90% of shoppers in neighbouring countries are consumers from Indonesia. So we also encourage satisfaction in this buyer segment, where Voila makes it easier. If Indonesia has everything, why spend your money abroad?” Zoey said.

"This also encourages income to the state. This is what we always emphasise, that shopping in Indonesia is more convenient and can be done anywhere, even in the car or before going to bed,” Zoey continued.
