A design studio from Jakarta won an award at the ADC Awards

Thinking Room, a design studio from Jakarta, won the bronze cube for the Brand/Communication Design category at the ADC 101st Annual Awards through their creation, Game of the Ox.

Game of the Ox is basically a board game created as an alternative to the tradition of visiting relatives. Thinking Room takes a contemporary style of playing tic-tac-toe that rewards winners with “fate reads planned deeds’ succeed”, a self-reflection guide on what to anticipate and focus on in the new year.

Uniquely, after playing, the X and O pawns can be used as decorations, even a container for incense.

For this work, Thinking Room received 3 points and managed to bring home the bronze cube from the award event which was focused on parties engaged in design and advertising. This event gives special awards to all parties engaged in arts and crafts, from graphic designers, illustrators, publishing and packaging, to photographers.

The Art Director Club of New York which initiated the ADC Awards is part of The One Club for Creativity which is the oldest industry event in the world that has been ongoing since 1921. Louis Pedlar, the person who founded the ADC, believes that the advertising industry is judged to the same stringent standards as art. Therefore, ADC was formed to maintain quality and fight for the importance of artistic value in advertising and design.
