Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison completes merger, aiming to lead digital transformation in Indonesia

Indosat Ooredoo and Hutchison 3 Indonesia on 4 January, 2022 announced that they have completed their business merger after receiving all required regulatory and shareholder approvals. After the merger, the company’s name changed into Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison

As the second-biggest mobile telecoms operator in Indonesia, and in line with the company’s vision, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison aims to be the most preferred digital telco of Indonesia.

The merger between the two telecom companies is also reflected in Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s new logo. The unifying circles imply the fusion of two digital giants that strengthen Indonesia’s digital development and bring the country to the future. 

Under the merger, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison will have a greater scale with better financial strength and expertise along with the ownership of superior network, talents, and strategic partnerships. 

In the last twelve months, March 2021, the merger is valued at $6 billion, and it has accumulated approximately 100 million customers. In terms of financial strength, the company has $3 billion income combined and $1.3 billion combined EBITDA with 43.5% margin. In terms of talent resources, it has more than 3,900 employees. In addition, it has 97,863 4G BTS network strength. 

With such significant resources, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison will be an important telecommunications player in driving Indonesia’s digital and economic growth. Simultaneously, the company will continue to focus on its core mission to deliver world-class digital experiences while connecting and empowering every Indonesian.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison shareholder structure is as follows: the majority of 65.6% is still owned by Ooredoo Hutchison Asia, while 14% is owned by the public and 10.8% is owned by PT. Tiga Telekomunikasi Indonesia. The remaining 9.6% is owned by the Government of Indonesia.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison will continue to trade on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the ticker ISAT.
