Tinkerlust sees a significant growth since introducing new selling methods

Indonesian fashion e-commerce Tinkerlust just launched a new selling method known as Tinkerlust Marketplace a few weeks ago (15 November). With this new selling method, sellers could have full control over the items that they sell on Tinkerlust's website. All transaction processes can be done anytime anywhere, and potential buyers could directly contact the seller to ask about the product details. 

This latest innovation is expected to make it easier for sellers to sell products in accordance to their individual needs and preferences, as well as to provide more product options for buyers.

It then leads to the question on how Tinkerlust ensures the authenticity of the items. Hence, for the first step of the authentication process, Tinkerlust requires sellers to upload detailed and clear pictures of the products. Products that passed the first step then will be sent to Tinkerlust and it will go through an identification step done by Tinkerlust’s expert team of merchandising. 

“Technological developments are now able to simplify the buying and selling process. So, Tinkerlust also continues to develop and innovate so sellers will no longer need to send/pack goods in large quantities at once and send it to Tinkerlust,” said Tinkerlust spokesperson when asked about the reason behind the launching of Marketplace. In less than a month after the Marketplace method launching, Tinkerlust has seen a 7% transaction growth. 

Moreover, prior to the Marketplace method, Tinkerlust also launched another new selling method back in early September, which is the Fast-Selling method. Here, Tinkerlust will directly buy luxury brand items from sellers. Sellers do not need to wait for the products to be sold to the customers to enjoy the profit, as the products will be paid directly by Tinkerlust. 

“[Tinkerlust saw] a great enthusiasm from both the sellers and buyers. Many of our customers have unused luxury fashion items and they want to participate in sustainability by extending the product’s lifetime. In addition, the practicality of this method can also be seen as an added value that makes sellers more interested,” the spokesperson explained. 

Since the launching of the Fast-Selling method, Tinkerlust has recorded 36% growth in transactions and the number of buyers has increased 23%. “We also experience an increase in the number of sellers since the launch of the Fast-Selling method,” added the spokesperson. 

Since Tinkerlust was founded back in 2015, they have recorded significant growth in transactions. “This includes the increasing number of transactions ever since the new selling methods were introduced.”
