Indonesian metal band Voice of Baceprot set to kick off first-ever European tour

Voice of Baceprot (VoB), an Indonesian metal band which consists of vocalist/guitarist Marsya, bassist Widi, and drummer Sitti, last Wednesday (27 October) announced their first-ever European tour.

Titled “Fight Dream Believe European Tour 2021”, the tour will kick off in the Netherlands on 27 November until 10 December. The band will also perform in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

The European tour is part of the promotion of their latest single “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music” which was released in August. According to NME, VoB said that the song is a reaction to the long-held criticism against the band as hijab-wearing Muslim women who played rock music.

“It has been a lifelong dream for us to perform abroad, especially in Europe. So, to be embarking on this tour is a dream come true for us,” Sitti said in a release.

VoB will also perform at Les Trans Musicales 2021 in Rennes, which is deemed one of the longest-running and renowned music festivals in France. The band is also invited to perform at Wacken Open Air music festival in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany next summer. It is one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in the world, with the most popular rock and metal musicians, such as Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Judas Priest, in its list.
