Hara launches reusable period panty
Hara, a sustainable and ethical undergarment brand, on 15 October launched reusable period panty, an innovative underwear for menstruation. The brand wants to focus on making more eco-friendly undergarments starting from this new product to reduce sanitary napkin waste.
“In her reproductive age, a woman can produce up to 11,000 pieces of waste cotton pads. We understand because there weren't any practical and eco-friendly solutions. With the presence of Hara Period Panty, we hope there will be a shift in women's monthly routines,” said Liliana, Director and owner of Hara Brand.
For the reusable period panty, Hara uses the newest Moisture-Wicking technology known as leak proof garment that is made from bamboo and cotton.
“The previous Hara panty collection was more of a daily style panty, but has focused on natural materials, such as 100% cotton. We are also very concerned about the breathable, anti-static and anti-bacterial features from the start,” said Liliana.
The period panty is non-chemical and anti-irritant, which makes it very safe for sensitive skin as well as for pregnant and lactating women. There are 3 levels of the period panty depending on the menstrual volume flow: Medium, Heavy and Super Heavy.
“However, Heavy and Mild can still be used from the beginning of the menstrual period because it can accommodate between 25-40 ml of fluid, depending on each individual,” Lilian said.
“It is recommended that there are several types to make it more comfortable. It is also suitable for the elderly or women with bladder issues,” she added.
In addition, Hara Period Panty comes in trendy designs with neutral colors. It is also available from xs to xxl and is priced at Rp148,000-Rp205,000 with a durability of up to 2 years.
“Each woman usually uses 630 sanitary napkins in 2 years. Meanwhile, with Hara Period Panty you can just have 6-7 pieces and reuse it every month for about 2 years. This saves 630 sanitary napkins that cannot be recycled which will end up in the landfills,” said Liliana.
