British model Owen Mooney last week exposed fashion designer Alexander Wang for groping him at the club in New York. The claim was published on the model’s TikTok account. The incident took place in 2017. Mooney was initially hesitant to mention Wang until someone dropped “it’s Alexander Wang” comment on his post.

“In 2017, I was in a club in New York City.. This club was so hectic, so packed. We could not move. I was by myself at one point. This guy next to me obviously took advantage of the fact that no one could fucking move. He was touching me up and up my leg, in my crotch. It made me freeze completely cause I was in so much shock. And then I looked to my left to see who it was. It was this really famous fashion designer,” said Mooney.

Mooney’s posts prompted more people to come out with their unpleasant encounter with Wang. Fashion watchdog accounts Diet Prada (@diet_prada) and Shit Model Management (@shitmodelmgmt) have been actively speaking out against Wang’s grotesque behaviour, including screenshots from people who shared their stories.

Plenty of the screenshots describe being drugged by Wang and his friends. A message from an anonymous individual wrote, “One friend of mine, who is a trans man, was in a limo for an after party with him a while ago. Upon getting inside the car, they were given water and they felt uneasy about the whole thing because Alex was making sure they all finished their water. A few moments later, they noticed they were rolling and had been given molly water.”

Wang is also accused of raping trans models, straight and gay men. Countless Twitter threads detailing Wang’s alleged sexual assaults have emerged. Since the allegations emerge, Wang has turned off comments on his social media accounts. Many are quick to dump their Alexander Wang’s item on pre-loved sites in order to show support to the alleged victims.

Wang is a notorious party animal. His fashion shows and collections like #WANGOVER and Party Animal are inspired by his party-goer lifestyle. In 2017, he appointed R. Kelly as brand ambassador despite Kelly’s sexual crimes. Rapper Azealia Banks, who is Wang’s former muse, reposted message from her follower who confided to her about Wang’s atrocious behaviour.

The designer has denied the allegations and issued his statement to The New York Times. “Over the last few days, I have been on the receiving end of baseless and grotesquely false accusations. These claims have been wrongfully amplified by social media accounts infamous for posting defamatory material from undisclosed and/or anonymous sources with zero evidence or any fact-checking whatsoever.”
